Sama participated in the conference on Resisting Marginalisations, Challenging Hegemonies: Re-visioning Gender Politics organised by the Indian Association of Women’s Studies (IAWS) along with the Department of Women’s Studies, Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya. The conference was held at Wardha from 21- 24 January 2011.
The discussions and presentations at the conference provided an opportunity for exchange of experiences and theories by young scholars and researchers on a range of themes like control of resources and the politics of exclusion, sites of justice, composite cultures and hegemonic ideologies. Sama contributed to the discussions on violence and reproductive technologies by drawing on its work and experiences.
