Sama Resource Group for Women and Health is organising a webinar on “Maternal health in the context of Sickle Cell Disease: Towards advancing support and care” on February 28, 2026 (Saturday).
Challenges related to maternal health for people with SCD are often made worse by inadequate healthcare, financial hardship, lack of specialist support, and discrimination. With proper care and management, many of these risks can be significantly reduced.
This webinar aims to highlight everyday barriers, community realities, and care practices that affect maternal health outcomes for people with SCD, while keeping reproductive rights and dignity at the forefront.
