Sama’s work on Early Marriage and Health is informed by its long standing involvement on issues of women and adolescent health, public health and rights. Health initiatives in India have largely been silent on adolescent health in general wherein early or forced marriage is perceived mostly as outside the ambit of health system intervention.
Sama through the research in this area seeks to understand the linkages between early marriage and health, and the existing role of health system to address the implications for the health of women in early marriages.
