Sama organized a three-day capacity building workshop on Violence as a Public Health Issue in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh on 23- 25 May, 2012. The workshop was attended by representatives from 16 organizations working on the issues of Women, Children, Livelihood, Food security, Land and forest rights, Displacement, Literacy, Environment vis-à-vis Rapid Industrialization, Violence, Health, Education, Panchayati Raj Institutions, NREGA, Gender based Violence (with particular focus on Domestic Violence), Corruption, Social justice, and SHGs.
The workshop enabled strengthening of linkages between GBV and health, and also provided a platform for organizations to explore synergies towards improving health system’s response to GBV.
