The Jan Swasthya Abhiyan (JSA) appealed to both the central government and state governments against extension of a one-size-fits-all nationwide lockdown. JSA recommended that measures for easing containment restrictions should be based on available data on disease spread, be context specific and based on a real judgement of administrative, logistic and health system capacity in different settings.
JSA along with All India Peoples Science Network (AIPSN) issued a Statement expressing concerns with clear demands and sent it to various governments and the media on 12 April.
