Our third webinar in the Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) series focuses on the racial and structural inequities surrounding this condition. This webinar will examine how the racialised framing of SCD influences access to treatment and rights, particularly within marginalised communities.
The webinar will delve into the challenges posed by systemic barriers in healthcare and policy and how these inequities shape the lived experiences and mental health of individuals with SCD.
Drawing on global perspectives, including insights from the Global South and Africa, the webinar will explore pathways toward equitable care and justice for those impacted by SCD. It will also highlight the interplay of public health research, clinical practice, and lived experience in addressing these disparities.
