This is the first national assessment on sexual and reproductive health undertaken on behalf of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) by SAMA Resource Group for Women and Health and Partners for Law in Development (PLD) in April 2018.
It maps critical concerns pertaining to sexual health and reproductive health as two distinct but partially overlapping concerns in the context of India. The distinct and separate elaboration of the two thematic domains have been dealt with in parts I and II of this report respectively.
Recommendations based on the assessment towards amendments and strengthened law, policy and programme, improved access to quality healthcare and comprehensive information, enhanced capacities of human resources for health and redressal mechanisms towards accountability and quality, have been flagged for the consideration of the National Human Rights Commission.
