Advocacy

Given our well-established and expanding linkages at the policy level as well as at the grassroots, we are well placed to facilitate the informing of policy initiatives based on ground realities as well as facilitate platforms for articulation, dissemination and critical analysis of health needs and priorities by community-based organisations, collectives, and women’s groups in rural and urban areas.

Sama – Resource Group for Women and Health plays an important role in strengthening links between grassroots groups, women’s collectives, and health networks in order to improve access to women’s and young people’s health, influence policy, and achieve the right to health. We have been recognised and invited to shape the policy on women’s health issues such as infertility, maternal health, gender-based violence, access to health, and gender and COVID, to name a few.

We collaborate with larger health and women’s networks in the country and regularly provide inputs on a wide range of issues relating to the above, both collectively and independently.
